Overview

Lantern is a client-facing issue tracking tool built for agencies. It gives your clients a simple way to report bugs, request features, and ask questions — and gives your team a clean, organised workspace to manage and respond to them.


#What Lantern does

When you sign up, you get a workspace (called an organisation) where you can:

  • Add your clients and manage issues for each one
  • Invite your team to collaborate on issues
  • Give clients their own login so they can submit and track issues directly
  • Communicate with clients through comments and status updates
  • Track progress with built-in insights

Each client gets their own portal — a dedicated login where they can view their open issues, check status updates, submit new requests, and reply to your team.


#How it is structured

Your team manages the workspace. Team members can:

  • See all clients and their issues
  • Update statuses, priorities, and assignments
  • Leave internal notes (hidden from clients)
  • Invite clients to their portal
  • Configure integrations like Jira

Your clients access a separate portal. Client users can:

  • Submit new issues
  • View their open and resolved issues
  • Reply to comments from your team
  • Receive email notifications on updates

#The widget (WordPress and Umbraco)

If your clients are on WordPress or Umbraco, you can also install the Lantern widget on their site. It adds a small button in the corner — logged-in CMS users can click it to submit a bug or request without leaving the page.

The widget is optional and specific to WordPress and Umbraco. Clients who don't use either platform still have full access to Lantern through their portal.
